Future Cities

+ info: National Geographic

With projections that show that 75 percent of the world’s population will be living in cities by 2050, people that live in all types of community—urban, suburban, or rural—will be affected by this unprecedented human migration. Governments at every level will have to become smarter about how resources like water, land, and energy are allocated and used. Issues like housing and transportation will require a new way of thinking to make the most of current infrastructures, and cities will have to find ways to handle the influx of residents.

It’s critical that we all have a voice in these decisions. Learn more about how you can become part of the conversation in our ongoing Great Energy Challenge. And thanks to everyone who took part in this assignment!
